EMAIL SENT OUT JULY 19, 2021

Dear Members and Friends,

We hope that you are finding the time to relax this summer and that you are staying safe and healthy.

We are sure many of you are wondering about the JCC’s plans for the 2021 High Holy Days. Members were sent a survey recently regarding their plans for this yom tov and we thank each of you who responded.  Your thoughts were taken into consideration as we prepare for the Holidays.

Last year’s services on Zoom were very well received.  In spite of not being in the JCC building, there was a feeling of warmth and community and we are so grateful for all those who made that possible.

This year, we are very comfortable in announcing that in-person services will be held in the sanctuary and social hall as well as on Zoom.  Saturday morning services began in the building this month and the ‘roomers” have been so glad to be back “home”.  At the same time, our “zoomers” have been able to participate in these hybrid services as well.

To ensure the greatest safety for our in-person worshippers, the following guidelines have been put into place:

  • All attending in person over the age of 12 must be fully vaccinated,
  • Masks will be required by all attending in-person
  • All services will be limited to 2 1/4 hours
  • One seat will be kept vacant between single persons, families, or groups.

The cost of seats remains the same.  Seating is $150.00 in the Sanctuary and $100.00 for a seat in the Social Hall. Social Hall seats for non-members are available for $175.00.  Zoom connections are $100.00 per device for one participant, and $180.00 per device for two or more participants.

Our Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services will include opportunities for congregants to receive honors in the JCC and on Zoom.

Look for the High Holiday Brochure to be mailed out to you shortly. The brochure will include your ticket order form, an opportunity to send New Year’s greetings to the congregation and a form to include your loved ones in the Book of Remembrance.

We look forward to an inspiring service this yom tov with Hazzan Sara Geller joining Rabbi Jay in the JCC building. Last year, we said: “When the shofar blows to signal the end of Yom Kippur, we will all sing together: “Next Year On LBI!”. In 2021, we can say we are here!!!!

Shana Tovah Umetukah (A Happy and Sweet New Year)
